Although I have studied voice and sung professionally for over ten years, I recently began to take lessons with a variety of voice teachers around the Southeast to try to get some extra help resolving tension issues. I was fortunate to have Sadie recommended to me by Stephen Smith of Northwestern University (who was recommended to me by Joyce DiDonato). I found Sadie to be extremely helpful in diagnosing and correcting the problems which contributed to my tension issues. She has a thorough understanding of technique, explains concepts in a concise and easy to understand way, and is very creative in finding multiple different ways to approach issues. Sadie puts a lot of effort into her teaching, and she is also an encouraging and fun person to work with! I highly recommend Sadie as a voice teacher! In my experience, she’s one of the best!

I have known Dr. Sadie Frazier Goodman for more than 15 years. I have watched her develop and train as a vocalist throughout those years. Dr. Goodman has been our daughter’s (Mason) voice teacher for the past four years. As Mason was growing up, her previous voice teacher advised us to seek a female voice teacher as her voice began to mature. Upon his advice, we sought out Dr. Goodman. One of the very first things that we were pleased to hear from Dr. Goodman was her plan to teach Mason to sing in a manner in which she would not stress or strain her young voice. We had no idea what it meant to be classically trained but we did know that our daughter had a talent and we wanted it developed in the best possible way. Dr. Goodman was just what our daughter needed and more! Dr. Goodman worked well with Mason, was patient and kind to her as she trained her to sing the correct way. But more than just training our daughter, she was a friend and a wonderful advisor and mentor. Dr. Goodman was genuinely and sincerely invested in Mason’s development as a vocalist. Dr. Goodman gave excellent advice and direction to Mason and to us, her parents, as we navigated this “new” world of classical singing and musical theatre. Dr. Goodman’s dedication to our daughter has prepared her for a career in musical theatre or as a classical vocalist. Multiple colleges have reaffirmed Mason’s readiness (and even her advanced vocal abilities) for the next steps in college. Mason was perfectly prepared to walk into her college auditions and have a great showing! We could not have been at this place without Dr. Sadie Frazier Goodman!

With a voice student who made the Semifinals in the Alabama National Association of singing competition in her category of second year college woman (a non-voice major at the University of Alabama) in February, 2015

Dr. Sadie Goodman has tremendously improved my vocal knowledge and technique. When I began working with her less than two years ago, I came from teachers that had pushed my voice in an unhealthy way. Looking for a more classical approach to singing, I found Dr. Goodman, and she has helped my vocal skills so much more than any teacher I had prior. She is kind and encouraging, but pushes me where I need it most. She expects a standard of me as a student that has perfectly prepared me for studying music in college. She has extensive knowledge of how the voice works, and it truly shows in my lessons. Dr. Goodman has a love for music that is obvious when she works with me, and I know that she cares for me as more than just a student. When I have auditions, she always texts or calls me to find out how they went, and she is just as excited as I am – if not more so – when I succeed. She is the most supportive person I have ever had the privilege of working with. Since beginning to work with her, I have been highly successful in my auditions, all of which is due to her teaching and guidance. I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Goodman, and I would highly recommend her as a voice teacher.

As an adult learner, it was important that I find a voice teacher who would challenge me but understand I won't be singing at Carnegie Hall. Dr. Sadie Goodman is a perfect teacher for my needs. She challenges me and has high expectations, but also makes the lessons fun. I have seen a remarkable improvement in the quality and range of my voice in the months I have been working with Sadie, which I attribute to her outstanding instruction and my hard work. I would highly recommend Dr. Goodman as a voice teacher.

When I decided to return to college as an adult, Dr. Sadie Goodman helped me achieve my dream of earning a degree in vocal performance. Under her direction at Judson College, I was able to develop my tone, breathing techniques, diction and pronunciation while correcting some life-long bad habits I had developed. Dr. Goodman helped me prepare for my junior and senior recitals which were sung in several languages. I have previously sung with Dr. Goodman at Carnegie Hall and in Santo Spirito Church in Florence, Italy under Dr. Terre Johnson. Her instruction and encouragement have been immeasurable to me as a singer and life-long student of music and vocal performance.
